About the Role

The role of an Activities Coordinator ensures that all activities are person-centred and inclusive, promoting independence, self-esteem, and enjoyment for residents of all abilities.

You will plan, deliver and evaluate a varied programme of meaningful recreational activities and social events that promote the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of residents. As an Activities Co-ordinator, you will ensure residents have opportunities for engagement, stimulation, community involvement, and personalised experiences that enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for all residents, including those with varying levels of mobility and cognitive abilities.
  • Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages resident participation and social interaction.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident interests to adapt programming accordingly.
  • Collaborate with families to incorporate their feedback into activity planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and evaluate the effectiveness of programmes.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations within the care home setting.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a residential care setting (desirable).
  • Has experience with dementia and Alzheimer’s care (desirable)
  • Has strong caregiving skills with an understanding of the unique needs of elderly residents.
  • Has excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Is creative, enthusiastic, and confident in leading groups and 1:1 sessions
  • Has a passion for enhancing the lives of residents through meaningful activities.
