Are you a Design, Branding or creative communications expert with teaching experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer on our BA (Hons) Advertising and Brand Design course. Our award-winning multidisciplinary course examines areas of strategic branding, design and advertising communications. We need a team player to help develop our learners’ skills, nurture their creativity and boost their long-term career prospects. It’s a great time to join Ravensbourne, our course is taught in a dynamic studio in our brand-new building located in the Greenwich Peninsula. You will lead Level 4 and have input into the overall course content, project and curriculum design, planning, and assessing modules. The Role The role is offered on a fractional (0.6) basis or 3 days (12 hours teaching) per week during the academic year. You will be responsible for designing, planning, delivering and assessing modules on creative principles, conceptual and strategic thinking, process and core skills, historical and contemporary contexts, as well as professionalism within the Advertising and Brand Design industry. Our students actively ‘learn with industry’ engaging with professional practice to explore real-world problems, commercial briefs and successfully enter industry on graduation. You’ll combine the theoretical and practical to deliver engaging sessions, drawing from your own professional experience to strategically build brands and communication campaigns. Our students want to be inspired by their teaching staff and are eager to develop their skills in the strategic, practical and technical sides of this dynamic industry. Our course has excellent links with key players, studios and agencies within the industry. The candidate will be an important member of the team and help us to continue to build on these relationships, and forge new ones. You’ll help us market the course to prospective students as well as support current students to develop and showcase their work as they begin their careers. The Candidate You will combine professional experience, academic rigour, pastoral support and a strong understanding of current industry practice to create an excellent, inclusive learning environment for our students.
