Burtons Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (part of the Burtons Group of Companies) has a new vacancy for a Welder to assist in the busy manufacturing and fabrication workshop reporting direct to the Engineering Supervisor.
Burtons is a family run group of companies covering manufacturing, sales and aftercare servicing in the veterinary sector. Starting from 1981 Burtons have quickly grown to be one of the leading veterinary equipment suppliers in the UK. Over the years Burtons have acquired a variety of companies to increase the equipment offering and skill sets. Approximately 50% of the products are still manufactured at Burtons HQ in Marden which boasts an extensive range of capabilities including; CAD, CNC machining, laser cutting, metal fabrication, plastic fabrication, wood shop, paint shop, full assembly & testing. Although still focused on the veterinary sector, Burtons have diversified into allied areas such as vehicle conversions for canine transportation and animal ambulances to grooming equipment and aquatic systems.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work from drawings
- Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations
- Produce steel products, constructed from box section and sheets of varying thickness from 1mm to 5mm and cleaned to a high standard
- From time to time you may be required to use the following machinery:
- Guillotine
- Pillar Drills
- Band saw
- Press brake
Training will be provided where necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must have experience in MIG and TIG Welding
- Good attention to detail
- Self-motivation
- Good communication
- Good timekeeping
