Burton Waters Boat Sales is one of the UK's leading boat dealers, with sites in Lincoln and Ipswich. We're authorised dealers for Jeanneau, Prestige Yachts and Majesty Yachts. We're growing, and we need a hands-on Financial Controller / Management Accountant to take ownership of our finance function and help drive the next phase of the business.

The role involves reporting to the General Manager and Managing Director, leading a finance team of two and running the accounts function across the group. This is a working role, not a desk role — we need someone who'll roll their sleeves up, get into the detail, and own the numbers.

Duties:

  • Monthly management accounts and board reporting
  • Payroll across the group
  • Cashflow, forecasting and budgeting
  • Day-to-day leadership of the accounts team (2 reports)
  • Partnering with directors on commercial decisions
  • A team player who'll drive standards and pace
  • Year-end and external accountant liaison

What we're looking for:

  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Hands-on experience running a small finance team
  • Strong with Xero; CRM-integrated workflows a plus
  • Accurate, organised and commercially minded — you tell us what the numbers mean, not just what they say
  • A team player who'll drive standards and pace
  • Marine, dealership or stock-heavy business experience welcome but not essential
  • Proven Finance Manager experience is preferred, though we'll consider strong newly qualified candidates.

What's on offer:

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
  • Performance bonus tied to business growth
  • Real scope to shape the role as the group expands
  • Pay from £40,000.00 per year.
  • Full-time role, though part-time will be considered for the right candidate.
  • Immediate start available.
  • Based at our head office in Lincoln.

This role has arisen as part of an exciting period of restructuring and expansion within the business.
