Job Overview
The Business Development Representative (BDR) will work closely with both Sales and Marketing teams to qualify, nurture, and advance marketing-generated leads into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs). This role is crucial for maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities and ensuring seamless handovers to the sales team. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, and experienced in solution-led sales, ideally within software, ERP, or Microsoft Dynamics environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Qualification & Nurturing
- Engage with inbound and outbound leads through phone, email, social media, and digital channels.
- Qualify prospects based on criteria such as industry fit, needs, budget, timeline, and decision-makers.
- Nurture early-stage opportunities to progress them to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs).
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM system.
- Sales & Marketing Alignment
- Collaborate with Marketing to provide feedback on campaign performance and lead quality.
- Work with Sales Executives to ensure smooth handover of qualified opportunities.
- Support outbound initiatives, targeted campaigns, and account-based marketing activities.
- Contribute to refining lead qualification processes and messaging.
- Events & Brand Presence
- Support trade shows, exhibitions, partner events, and conferences.
- Engage with attendees, qualify leads on-site, and ensure effective follow-up.
- Represent the company professionally as a brand ambassador.
- Reporting & Insights
- Report on pipeline activity, lead conversion rates, and qualification outcomes.
- Provide regular updates to Sales & Marketing leadership.
- Share market insights, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years in a Business Development, SDR, or Inside Sales role.
- Experience in B2B software, ERP, SaaS, or technology partner environments.
- Strong understanding of lead qualification and sales pipelines.
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging senior decision-makers.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player across sales and marketing functions.
- Commercially minded with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
