We are looking to recruit a commercially minded, experienced Management Accountant with a proven track record in delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis within a fast-paced environment, to join our client, a growing business with offices in both Blackpool and Manchester.
This is a key role within the finance team, responsible for delivering insightful financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the smooth running of month-end processes. You will be involved in key commercial decision-making and have the chance to make a tangible impact on the company's financial performance.
The successful candidate will play a critical part in driving commercial performance, providing financial analysis to senior stakeholders, and supporting ongoing improvements within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the month-end process, including the preparation of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce detailed variance analysis on key financial drivers such as customer numbers, consumption volumes, pricing, and costs
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial performance reports for executive and Board-level review
- Lead the preparation of year-end audit files and act as the main point of contact for external auditors
- Prepare VAT and corporate tax returns in coordination with Group tax advisors
- Manage intra-group cost allocations, pricing structures, and transfers
- Provide financial modelling and analysis to support the commercial team, particularly around customer demand, costing, and margin strategy
- Evaluate new business opportunities, channels, and portfolio optimisation strategies
- Support and mentor junior members of the finance team to aid their professional development
- CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified or similar
- Experience in a finance role, with business partnering experience at senior stakeholder level
- Strong understanding of financial and management accounting practices
- Experience using financial accounting software (e.g., SAGE)
- Knowledge of billing systems and CRM data interrogation is highly advantageous
- Commercially aware, with experience in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting within complex customer life cycles
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on delivering actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders
