If you understand Professional Indemnity in Construction and want to build real authority in a specialist niche — while still driving revenue like a true Account Executive — this could be worth a read. We're working with a well-respected, growth-focused independent broker in Birmingham looking to appoint a specialist Construction PI Account Executive to develop and grow this division. This is a pure new business role.

You'll be responsible for identifying, winning and developing Construction PI clients — working directly with specialist underwriters and positioning yourself as a market expert within the sector. It's a revenue-generating, market-facing position with autonomy and progression.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Growing a portfolio of Construction PI clients (contractors, consultants, design & build firms).
  • Broking directly to market and negotiating with specialist PI underwriters.
  • Developing new business opportunities within the construction space.
  • Identifying cross-sell opportunities across wider commercial lines.
  • Advising clients on programme structure, indemnity limits and risk positioning.
  • Working closely with internal Account Handlers to ensure smooth servicing.
  • Ensuring all activity is FCA compliant and professionally executed.
What They're Looking For
  • Proven experience in Commercial Insurance — ideally with exposure to Professional Indemnity.
  • Strong understanding of Construction risks (or clear desire to specialise in this area).
  • Comfortable broking to market and negotiating terms.
  • Commercially driven — you enjoy developing business, not just maintaining it.
  • Strong relationship-builder with both clients and insurers.
  • Progress towards Cert CII (or willingness to complete).
This would suit:
  • A PI Broker wanting more ownership.
  • A Commercial Account Handler ready to step up.
  • An Account Executive - with experience, who wants to specialise in Construction PI.
Why This Role Stands Out
  • Access to specialist PI markets.
  • Clear progression pathway.
  • Strong internal technical support.
  • Competitive salary + bonus structure.
  • Mid-sized broker culture — agile, visible, not corporate red tape.

If you're technically strong, commercially minded and want to build genuine expertise within Construction PI, this is a serious career move — not just another broking job.
