Are you a natural leader who loves bringing people together, building relationships and being a visible part of your local community?

If you want to lead a branch where success is measured by the difference you make to members and the community, not by hitting a sales target, we would love to hear from you.

On behalf of a respected finance company, we are looking for a full time Branch Manager to lead its Preston branch.

This is a genuinely people-first leadership role: you will develop and mentor a small, dedicated team, build the company's profile across Preston and the surrounding area, and make sure everyone who walks through the door has an excellent experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading, mentoring and developing your branch team, helping each person grow and do their best work.
  • Being the face of the company in your community.

You will build genuine local relationships and partnerships, from delivering financial education in local schools to supporting good causes and attending careers fairs and community events.

  • Making sure the branch runs well and that members always receive fair, positive outcomes, in line with the company's standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Handling member queries and complaints with care, putting things right and knowing when to escalate.
  • Rolling up your sleeves and supporting the team on the front line during busy spells, leading by example.

This is not a sales role. It is about people, relationships and community, and about leading a team to deliver service that members genuinely value.

About You

Management experience is essential.

  • You will have led and developed a team before, and you will know how to get the best from people.
  • A relationship builder at heart, comfortable getting out into the community, networking and forming partnerships.
  • Proactive and self-driven, able to make sound decisions on your own communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and a 'right first time' approach.
  • A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at grade C/4 or
  • above.
  • A background in an FCA or PRA regulated environment is a real bonus, though it is not essential.

If you are an outstanding leader from another sector, we would still like to hear from you.

  • A qualification in leadership or management is desirable but not required.

The company is committed to your development. You will receive a thorough induction and ongoing training, with real investment in your first six months and beyond.

  • In Return
  • Salary of £35,000, plus a discretionary annual bonus of up to 10% linked to business performance.
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, with extra days to celebrate your birthday and personal milestones.
  • Generous salary sacrifice pension, employer matched up to 10%.
  • Life assurance of six times your salary.
  • Income protection.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity provision.

A predictable Monday to Friday working pattern (8:45am to 5:00pm), so you can plan your life around your work.

The occasional Saturday morning may come up, but this is rare and ad hoc, and time is usually given back the following week.

This is a regulated role, so any appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including credit and criminal record checks.

Anything flagged is always considered fairly and on an individual basis
