Who are we looking for?

Burton and South Derbyshire College are seeking to appoint a passionate and creative individual to join our Travel and Tourism Curriculum Team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a forward thinking, learner centred department. Key focuses involve industry connections, personal development, improving behaviour and attitudes whilst achieving impressive outcomes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, commitment to innovative learning, teaching and assessment, welcoming methods that differ from the traditional classroom. Ideally you will be actively engaged within the Travel and Tourism industry and is willing to introduce and develop relationships with local, regional and national employers.

The College is looking for someone committed to helping learners stretch and challenge themselves and develop the skills necessary for progressing onto their next career step. The position would involve Course Leadership responsibility, monitoring individual, qualification, and course performance, with identification and implementation of appropriate support.

The successful candidate will teach predominantly on the Level 3 Travel and Tourism study programme. Module delivery will be aligned to occupational skillset to deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessments to our learners. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for the Travel and Tourism industry and possess excellent communication skills to motivate and guide learners to succeed.

Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
