Full time, 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Location: The Stephen Burke Construction Academy, Swadlincote

Salary: £28,870 - £36,590 per annum + £4,500 “Golden Hello” paid in 3 instalments PLUS Bursary up to £1,800 per year (qualification level dependent) PLUS, up to £11,000 professional development bursary for formal education and training qualifications including:

  • Level 3-5 Education & Teaching
  • Level 3 TAQA Assessor Qualification
  • Level 4 TAQA Internal Quality Assurance Qualification
  • Level 4 HNC in Construction / Civil Engineering

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching on courses within the Construction department and be responsible for course leading across our multi skills and level 1 programmes. If you have construction skills within the range of Carpentry and Joinery, Bricklaying, Plumbing or Electrical Installation we’d be keen to discuss with you how these could be key in developing the next generation of Construction professionals.

As part of our enthusiastic and successful Construction team you will bring both industry experience and a fresh teaching style to the department, engaging our learners from day one. Additional development and delivery of specialist industry related courses may also be required.

You will hold relevant qualifications in your subject area. A teaching qualification is desirable for this post or a willingness to work towards. Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
