Location: The Stephen Burke Construction Academy, Swadlincote

Salary: Up to £36,590 PLUS Bursary up to £1,800 per year (qualification level dependent) PLUS, up to £11,000 professional development bursary for formal education and training qualifications including:

  • Level 3-5 Education & Teaching
  • Level 3 TAQA Assessor Qualification
  • Level 4 TAQA Internal Quality Assurance Qualification
  • Level 4 HNC in Construction / Civil Engineering

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to join our professional construction team based at our Stephen Burke Construction Academy in Swadlincote. You will teach, assess, and monitor full time and Apprentice students engaged in programmes from levels 1 to 3, supporting and facilitating student learning, and whilst liaising closely with management and other departments. As part of this role, you may also be required to deliver part-time evening courses.

Industrial and commercial experience within the carpentry and joinery industry is essential, along with an understanding and knowledge of apprenticeship systems and operations. An appropriate teaching qualification, an Assessor award, and teaching experience would be desirable. Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
