Burton and South Derbyshire College are seeking to appoint a qualified, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Fabrication and Welding team at our Engineering academy. The successful candidate will support with practical workshop sessions and be prepared to lead on activities with small groups completing fabrication and welding specific tasks. You will also be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the workshop equipment
  • Liaising with the Curriculum Team Leader when repairs and servicing are required
  • Assisting and leading on health & safety aspects such as risk assessment and equipment inventory
  • Maintaining the correct levels of resources and consumable items
  • Preparing the workshop ready for demonstration
  • General housekeeping
  • Supporting external visits and open days when required

Applicants will ideally hold an industry relevant qualification and have experience suitable to these environments with health and safety experience being beneficial. We welcome applications from enthusiastic fabrication and welding vocational specialists willing to work with young people. Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
