This role sits within the Corporate Sectors and Public Affairs teams at Burson as a Social & Content Strategist (Account Director). You will be working as part of a global social media team for a leading technology company, as well as supporting other key accounts, creating social-first content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and X.
You will be responsible for developing social strategies that connect audience behaviour with brand objectives. You will partner closely with creative teams, account leaders, and clients to guide the direction of campaigns across platforms. Your work will influence content planning, creative development, community engagement, and measurement approaches.
What You’ll Do- Develop and implement robust, data-driven social media and digital engagement strategies by conducting in-depth reputational analysis, trend forecasting, and stakeholder/audience mapping, ensuring these strategies are not only clear and compelling but also directly aligned with overarching business objectives and measurable KPIs.
- Lead and optimise strategic social platform planning for both large-scale, time-bound campaigns and continuous 'always-on' engagement initiatives, meticulously defining channel-specific content ecosystems, targeting parameters, and maximising reach and impact across the relevant digital landscape.
- Translate performance data, intelligence, and stakeholder sentiment into actionable strategic recommendations that directly inspire and inform innovative creative development, campaign optimisation, and future content planning.
- Persuasively present complex strategic frameworks, insights, and actionable plans to both internal stakeholders and external clients, instilling confidence and securing buy-in through clear, compelling communication and a proven executive presence.
- At the client level: Leverage our suite of tools to anticipate threats and inform innovative strategic pivots for our clients that build reputation, strategic relevance and competitive advantage.
- At the practice level: Proactively monitor and interpret evolving social media trends, platform evolutions, and shifts in audience behaviour to identify emerging opportunities for our clients, teams and to keep Burson ahead of the curve.

Experience That Contributes To Success- Embed seamlessly into our Corporate and Public Affairs team, working across our specialisms to understand our clients and the factors shaping reputation across stakeholders, media, policy, regulation, issues and more.
- Collaborate with creative teams, guiding the development of concepts and content designed to authentically connect with and deeply resonate with target stakeholders, ensuring messaging is reputationally relevant and highly engaging.
- Creating effective content briefs for our design team, developing copy and making recommendations on assets and overseeing digital editorial calendars.
- Proactively monitor and interpret evolving social media trends, platform evolutions, and shifts in audience behaviour to identify emerging opportunities, anticipate competitive threats, and inform innovative strategic pivots that maintain brand relevance and competitive advantage.
- Articulate and persuasively present complex strategic frameworks, insights, and actionable plans to both internal stakeholders and external clients, instilling confidence and securing buy-in through clear, compelling communication and a proven executive presence.
- Creating content briefs to feed into our design and editing team, developing copy and making recommendations on assets and content structure and overseeing the management social calendar across multiple regions for a global LinkedIn company page.
- Managing client communications including leading content development workstreams, updating WIPs and calendars, internal communication with colleagues.
