Overview

Role - Senior Support Worker - Learning Disabilities and Autism

Hours - Candidates to be flexible to work between the hours of 7.30am and 10pm on a rota basis inclusive of some weekends.

Additional - Please note this role is not open to sponsorship and we require candidates to be fully flexible. We are only seeking candidates who have previously been a senior or an acting senior.

Burrow Down Support Services are looking to employ a Senior Support Worker. You will already be an experienced Support Worker who wants to take that next step up the career ladder, or in fact a Senior who is looking for a new challenge. A Senior's role is varied and you will be supervising your team through providing everyday support. The role is rewarding; however, there may be times when the customers are challenging and demanding, this is where your experience will come into its own and you will be able to lead by example.

Responsibilities

  • Leading by example in delivering care standards in line with legislation.
  • Regularly review care plans and update where necessary.
  • Communicate changes to all team members.
  • Compliance with Burrow Down policies and procedures and ensure all staff on shift are following policy and working in line with CQC guidance.
  • Allocate work duties to other colleagues on shift and check jobs are completed.
  • Take part in creating a 4 week rolling rota that supports the customers' needs.
  • Ensure that all care is monitored through annual health checks and any changes in health and behaviour reported promptly.
  • Take the lead on administering medications and observe team members providing constructive feedback.
  • Ensure well-stocked stores and medication, ordering, receiving and counting in as appropriate.
  • Monitor doctors' medical appointments and other external appointments that the customer requires.
  • Liaise with pharmacy, nurses, GPs and other external agencies.
  • Coordinate and ensure the effective delivery of key worker roles amongst the team.
  • Proactively identifying appropriate activities ensuring customer fulfilment.
  • Induction of new staff completed and documented.
  • Under the guidance of your Registered Manager, contribute to the operation of the home in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Paying of bills timely and recorded correctly.
  • Support your Registered Manager in ensuring the service is run successfully and the customers are getting the best possible outcomes, living as independently as possible with choice.
  • Ensure all incidents are recorded accurately.
