We're looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our UK+ Finance team in Bath. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys combining strong technical accounting expertise with strategic business partnering, helping project leaders make informed decisions that drive performance and support sustainable growth.

About The Role

As a Finance Business Partner, you'll play a pivotal role within an established finance team, partnering with Project Directors, Project Operations teams and senior stakeholders across the business. You'll be responsible for the end-to-end production of management accounts, project financial performance reporting, forecasting and providing commercial insight that influences decision-making across a diverse project portfolio. This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and provides an excellent opportunity to develop both your commercial and leadership capabilities within a collaborative, global organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and controlling monthly management and project accounts.
  • Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Partnering with Project Directors and leadership teams through regular project finance reviews.
  • Providing financial guidance, challenge and insightful analysis to improve project performance.
  • Monitoring project revenues, costs, profitability and work-in-progress positions.
  • Managing debtor reviews and identifying financial risks and opportunities.
  • Delivering monthly financial commentary and presenting performance insights to stakeholders.
  • Supporting financial and commercial decision-making across your portfolio.
  • Collaborating closely with Project Operations teams and regional finance colleagues.
  • Maintaining ownership and control of assigned cost centres.
  • Producing quarterly WIP and foreign exchange reporting.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for financial matters within your business area.
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial processes, controls and reporting.

About You: We're looking for someone who combines technical finance expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach. You'll bring:

  • Experience operating in a business partnering, management accounting or commercial finance role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge alongside commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage, challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for building strong relationships with non-finance colleagues.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.

Qualifications

Studying towards or fully qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:

  • Experience within professional services, engineering, consultancy or construction environments.
  • Knowledge of Agresso financial systems.
  • Experience using Deltek Vantagepoint.
