Buro Happold is an international, integrated engineering consultancy operating in 21 locations worldwide. We are recruiting for a Senior Technician Apprentice (Level 4) for our Building Services team in Bath. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their digital engineering career to develop practical BIM skills within a vibrant, supportive, multidisciplinary practice based in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath.
As an apprentice, you will learn how to support BIM delivery across building services projects, working alongside experienced engineers and digital specialists while completing a structured apprenticeship programme. This apprenticeship opportunity is in partnership with Bath College who will be delivering the Level 4 Building Services Engineering (HNC) Apprenticeship.
Your next role – Apprentice BIM Technician
- A genuine interest in digital engineering, BIM, and building services (MEP).
- A strong willingness to learn, develop new skills, and take feedback on board.
- An organised approach to work, with good attention to detail.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate clearly with others.
- A positive, proactive attitude and pride in producing high quality work.
- Good IT skills and confidence using digital tools, or the enthusiasm to develop them.
Grade 4/C in English and Maths AND Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, for example: Building Services Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Built Environment, Engineering BTEC, T Level, or Advanced Apprenticeship OR A‑Levels, typically in Maths plus a technical subject such as Physics, Engineering, or Design Technology.
It would be beneficial, but not essential, if you have:
- Studied or are studying a relevant subject such as engineering, construction, design, IT, or a built environment related course.
- Some awareness of BIM, CAD, or Revit through education, work experience, or personal projects.
- An interest in sustainability, technology, or innovation in the built environment.
