Summer Placement – Security Engineering at Buro Happold. From shaping cities to adapting infrastructure for the climate emergency, a career at Buro Happold offers the chance to make a real difference. This summer placement lets you join our Security & Public Safety team in London for an 8‐week, paid opportunity tailored to current university students.
What is Security Engineering?
With experience across defence, information technology, and construction, we offer bespoke strategies and engineered solutions that consider risk, operational requirements, business case for technology investment, and the wider architectural vision. We design mitigation strategies that remain flexible to changing threat landscapes while respecting a building's aesthetic and aspirations.
Responsibilities
- Challenge existing ways of working to find new solutions to existing problems.
- Work on complex design drawings; provide workable solutions. Basic knowledge of BIM technology and 3D modelling is advantageous.
- Manage various projects and commit to ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
Qualifications
- Studying towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electronic Communications, or a related field.
- A passion for security and technology.
- Initiative and ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated with commitment to professional development.
