Buro Happold’s Digital Advisory team focuses on delivering technology and information transformation to clients to enhance their financial, environmental, and social performance (the triple-bottom-line, across people, planet and places). Our projects vary considerably; from defining the smart city technologies that will transform the resident, worker, or visitor experience of a new city in the middle east, to developing a sophisticated data-driven 3D digital twin of a university campus to determine the most effective route to net zero carbon, to outlining how technology can add significant revenue streams across football clubs in the UK, to defining the team, processes and policies required for our clients to manage data quickly and securely. All our projects have engineering or ‘real-world’ asset expertise at their core and it is that, with our focus on the triple-bottom-line, that makes us unique.
The team works across a range of consulting areas covering digital strategy and transformation, digital systems and solutions and data and analytics. We are looking for colleagues who want to collaborate with our other global offices, our experts in design, and technologists internally and externally to make a real-world difference.
Our market leading capability has resulted in the UK Digital Advisory team tripling in size over the last 2 years with a strong growth plan and pipeline. To support this growth, we are looking for a Manager to add further project leadership capacity, with a focus on smart and connected places, urban development and decarbonisation projects.
Key Duties:- Manage (plan-do-review) workstreams across areas such as digital and data strategy or digital transformation for some of the world's most iconic projects and clients, owning the day-to-day client relationship as well as the team’s performance and wellbeing – a critical role within the team.
- Develop and manage workstreams to deliver the client brief and/or outcome agreed in proposal.
- Support and manage project team and workstream team to achieve project and personal objectives.
- Support business development of digital and data strategy and transformation projects primarily by building upon existing engagements that you are leading delivery on.
- Proactively seeking ways to review and improve our capability - methodology, tools, templates, and training.
- Providing support to wider team development through coaching and mentoring of team members where appropriate.
- Act as 1st line of defence/review/assurance for project deliverables.
- Digital design, strategy, transformation or system integration related to Smart Places.
- Experience and passion for technology in the urban environment, specifically within one or more of the following: buildings and real estate, energy and utilities, sport stadia and venues, mobility and transport, smart cities or districts is significantly desirable.
- Experience leading management consulting engagements with strong client management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
- Experience working on direct to client bids as well as public sector bids.
- Relevant digital or business (CA, ACA, MBA) professional qualification would be beneficial.
Attractive benefits package including, car allowance, private medical insurance, life assurance and income protection. Holiday entitlement of 25 days per annum.
