We are looking for an Environmental Consultant to join our International Projects service line. The role is flexible across Bath, Manchester, Edinburgh and our new Old Street London office.
Responsibilities- Delivery input into the concept and detailed masterplanning process;
- Work with our Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) delivery team;
- Engage in project management and environmental coordination across a range of strategic planning deliverables;
- Support developing our emerging overseas Environmental Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) offering;
- Assume key roles in advisory services, providing clients with environmental decision making support and undertaking technical reviews of environmental studies;
- Participate in business and team development opportunities, supporting future projects internationally.
Examples include delivering ground‐breaking SEAs for Qiddiya and PIF, integrating environmental solutions for the EXPO 2030 masterplan in Riyadh, and working on masterplans, infrastructure and environmental restoration projects across the globe.
Skills & Experience- Understanding of a wide range of environmental aspects;
- Point of contact to project leaders and represent Buro Happold in client meetings;
- Technical report writing for masterplanning reports, EIA, ESIA, SEA;
- Creating presentations using infographics/imagery;
- Conduct studies, research and analysis;
- Project management including budgets;
- GIS data compilation and analysis;
- Knowledge of emerging AI technologies in the industry;
- Track record of SEA/ESIA projects internationally in a management capacity;
- Expertise on SEA/ESIA strategy advice;
- Interest in engineering proposal responses;
- Proactive deadline management;
- Leadership in challenging situations;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Client‐facing experience;
- Financial and business management system knowledge;
- Membership in an appropriate professional body (e.g., ISEP).
