This opportunity is for an Associate or Associate Director Water Engineer to join our vibrant and friendly team. This role will be based in London with hybrid working.
Buro Happold's Water Group provide consultancy services from 'cloud to coast' including water resource management, river engineering, flood risk management, coastal and maritime engineering. We work across all stages of design, from masterplanning through to detailed design, on UK and international projects. We enjoy collaborating with other Buro Happold disciplines, architects, planners, and environmental specialists, on sites that are universally exciting and valued by people.
The successful applicant will provide project leadership and technical delivery of flood risk management and river engineering services within the Water Group. The role will include the following areas of work:
- Flood risk assessment and management
- Flood risk mitigation design
- River engineering
- Hydraulic design e.g. channel design, scour protection, etc.
- Hydrological and hydraulic modelling
Your Skills And Experience:
- Technical background in water engineering, covering at least two of the listed areas above.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience working on water projects outside of the UK would be advantageous.
- Experience of resource management and leading project teams.
- Project management experience.
- Take responsibility for commercial performance of projects.
- Show strong personal leadership.
- Be a strong advocate for raising Quality of deliverables.
- Chartered Engineer with not less than 3 years post-professional qualification.
The successful candidate will also play a key role in:
- Knowledge sharing and technical development of the Water Group.
- Business development and work-winning.
- Line management and mentoring of junior staff.
- Key client relationships.
