About The Role
As the UK Inclusion & Wellbeing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our global Inclusion, Wellbeing & Engagement (IWE) strategy to life through a UK lens. Reporting into the Global Director of IWE and partnering closely with the UK+ HR Director, the Head of HR Business Operations, Equity Leadership sponsors and our EDI & Wellbeing champions, you will lead the delivery of the UK Equity Plan and ensure inclusion is embedded across our culture, systems and everyday experiences. Your work will directly influence how colleagues feel, work and grow at Buro Happold, supporting us in becoming an employer of choice today and setting a benchmark for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving and embedding the UK Equity Plan, ensuring it reflects our overall UK+ strategy as well as the nuances of Business Operations.
- Integrating wellbeing pillars into our inclusion work, aligning to global priorities and supporting equitable practices that enable everyone to perform at their best.
- Leading wellbeing and inclusion initiatives such as Wellbeing by Design, our Mindful Business Charter work, champion networks, wellbeing resources and employee‑led programmes.
- Partnering with senior leaders to influence behaviours, policies and systems that foster belonging and healthy workplaces.
- Supporting inclusive policy development, inclusive language guidance, mental health support mechanisms, and culture‑building efforts across teams.
- Driving Culture Survey reporting, ensuring clear accountability, action planning and regular progress reviews.
- Overseeing equity metrics, gender pay gap reporting and people insights, turning data into clear narratives that shape decisions and challenge barriers.
- Supporting reflective representation across UK offices, working with Talent Acquisition to set inclusive hiring goals and promote the “Be Included” data campaign.
- Acting as a conduit to employee networks and supporting their development and impact.

- Experience leading inclusion work within a complex, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrable success in delivering strategic plans and culture change initiatives.
- Confidence analysing data to inform strategy, measure progress and challenge inequity.
- The ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of turning complex issues into compelling narratives.
- A proactive, curious mindset, accountability, and the drive to deliver meaningful change at pace.
