Our Global Finance team plays a critical role in enabling our engineers, designers and consultants to deliver exceptional projects worldwide. We are now looking for a Project Delivery & Governance Manager to join our Central Finance team and help strengthen project delivery, governance and oversight of finance change and transformation.
About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Financial Operations, you will sit within the Central Finance team, part of our wider Global Finance community that supports both technical and non-technical teams across the organisation. This is a pivotal role combining hands‑on project delivery with strong PMO and governance leadership. You will lead the successful delivery of multiple initiatives, ensuring they are well governed, compliant with organisational standards and aligned with Buro Happold's strategic objectives. Working closely with regional finance teams and a cross‑functional project management community, you will provide clarity, structure and confidence in how projects are planned, delivered and reported.
What you’ll be doing:
- Project management & delivery
- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of multiple projects, managing scope, programme, budget and quality.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and resource allocations.
- Drive effective stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify, assess and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ensure projects deliver measurable benefits and support strategic business outcomes.
- Governance & PMO oversight
- Establish, maintain and continuously improve project governance frameworks, policies and best practice.
- Monitor compliance with organisational standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Produce clear, accurate and timely reporting, dashboards and performance metrics for senior leadership.
- Support portfolio management, prioritisation and resource planning activities.
- Administration & coordination
- Maintain robust project documentation, including plans, reports and governance records.
- Organise and facilitate project boards, steering groups and governance forums, including agenda preparation.
- Provide PMO and administrative support to ensure smooth and effective project operations, including meeting minutes and action tracking.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience in project management and PMO environments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of project governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational, planning and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using project management tools.
