From helping shape entire cities to adapting infrastructure to address the climate emergency, a career at Buro Happold provides an exciting opportunity to make a difference. This is a 12‑month industrial placement for current students based in our vibrant Bath office.
About the role
You will support our Infrastructure team in delivering integrated multi‑disciplinary service throughout the project life cycle, from planning through to design and implementation. You will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, gaining experience in regeneration, public realm improvements, stadium and arena, healthcare and more.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with design, analysis and documentation of infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, local and national authorities and multidisciplinary collaborators.
- Support project planning, cost control, sustainability assessments and coordination of project deliverables.
- Contribute to conceptual and detailed design stages across various project types.
Qualifications
- Currently studying towards a Civil Engineering degree and able to begin the placement (formal year out or option to take one).
- Passion and enthusiasm for engineering design, sustainability and making a meaningful contribution to society.
- Strong interest in the projects we work on and a desire to understand where your contributions fit.
- Will actively engage with colleagues on work projects and value learning from and sharing knowledge with them.
