Buro Happold is recruiting for an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Building Environments team in Cambridge.
This role will see the successful applicant leading MEP projects, inputting to, and assisting with leading the Electrical team on projects in the Cambridge area and further afield, including Higher Educational buildings, research facilities, mixed‑use developments, and refurbishments, including heritage buildings.
Key Duties
- Autonomously represents Buro Happold to clients, architects and collaborators.
- Project lead, representing multiple BH disciplines on small to medium sized commissions.
- Lead the electrical disciple on large projects, taking responsibility for the design quality, programme, resources and client care.
- Negotiating utility modifications and additions with stakeholders.
- Undertake detailed Electrical engineering building services design and calculations.
- Embrace technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet net zero targets by 2030.
- Ensure projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budget.
- Represent Buro Happold at meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers.
- Produce and review reports, presentations, models and drawings to an excellent standard, high level of accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Prepare technical specifications and schedules, design development reports and innovative design solutions.
- Plan and manage input to Revit for production of design work.
- Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines, in group discussions and at events and seminars.
- Line‑manage or mentor junior team members.
Your Skills and Experience
- Relevant building services experience or credentials that will help us meet our goals for delivering highly sustainable buildings.
- Experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer on projects.
- Broad design knowledge, across a range of projects.
- Experience using common analysis software including Revit.
- Working towards, or a Chartered Member of CIBSE or equivalent body.
