Can you turn insight into strategy? Use data, intelligence and narrative to shape global decisions. This role can be based in our Bath office on a hybrid working model. We are a global consultancy delivering sustainable, innovative and people‑centred solutions across the built environment. Working at the heart of complex challenges, we bring together engineering, design, advisory and data to help our clients and communities thrive. We are seeking a Global Finance Strategy & Insight Analyst to join our central finance team, supporting senior leaders with forward‑looking insight that shapes strategic decision‑making across our global business.
This is a high‑impact, future‑focused position at the intersection of finance, strategy and market intelligence. You will translate complex internal and external data into clear, executive‑ready insights that support faster, better leadership decisions. Rather than focusing on historic reporting, you will connect market trends, competitor intelligence and internal performance drivers to identify risks, opportunities and strategic options across global markets. The role requires strong analytical capability alongside clear communication and storytelling skills.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain external benchmarking views, including peer KPIs, market dynamics and productivity metrics.
- Combine internal performance data with external market signals to produce trend analysis and forward‑looking insights.
- Design and run scenario and sensitivity models covering macroeconomic factors, pricing, volume/mix, FX, inflation and capacity constraints.
- Identify strategic opportunities, risks and optimisation levers, supported by robust data and scenario analysis.
- Partner closely with Strategy, Commercial and other teams to test assumptions and shape executable plans.
- Create concise, insight‑led dashboards, leadership packs and executive briefings.
- Clearly communicate assumptions, limitations, implications and recommended actions to senior stakeholders.
- Improve the consistency, repeatability and governance of insight production, documenting methodologies and sources.
About You
You will ideally bring:
- An MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification (newly qualified or early career).
- Strong analytical capability gained through consulting projects, research, rotations or insight‑focused roles.
- Confidence working with financial and operational KPIs and translating data into strategic insight.
- Experience building scenario, sensitivity or driver‑based financial models (Monte Carlo experience is a plus).
- Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, with experience using Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling executive‑level presentations.
- A structured, detail‑oriented approach, with high standards for data quality, assumptions and governance.
- Commercial curiosity and an interest in markets, competitors and industry trends.
- Experience within professional services, engineering or consultancy environments (desirable but not essential).
Benefits
- Hybrid working arrangements.
- Attractive salary and benefits package including private medical insurance, life assurance and income protection.
- 10% Car allowance.
- Holiday entitlement of 25 days per annum (exclusive of bank holidays) and flexible holiday arrangements.
- Generous company pension scheme.
- Flexible benefits including cycle scheme, dental insurance, optical cover, travel insurance, season ticket loans, and corporate discounts.
- Enhanced parenthood leave policies.
- A strong commitment to your continuous development and a learning and development programme.
- Entitlement to two memberships to professional bodies or subscriptions.
- A commitment to wellbeing through an employee assistance programme and wellbeing activities.
