Shape the global voice of Buro Happold. Join us as a Social Media Lead. This person can be based in our Bath or London office on a hybrid working model. Now we’re looking for a Social Media Lead to help us tell those stories on a global stage.
This is a key role within our Global Marketing & Communications team, where creativity meets strategy, and content brings our people and projects to life.
About The Role
As Social Media Lead, you’ll own and deliver our global social media plan, shaping how Buro Happold shows up across platforms. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, regional marketing teams and our in-house creative specialists to ensure our content is professional, engaging and consistently on brand. You’ll be both strategic and hands-on—setting direction, spotting opportunities, and producing standout content that resonates with audiences around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating compelling social content that showcases our people, projects and ideas
- Writing sharp, engaging copy tailored to each platform
- Telling powerful stories that connect with internal and external audiences
- Supporting and delivering integrated marketing campaigns
- Producing and editing high-quality video content
- Acting as channel owner, ensuring consistency, governance and brand alignment
- Championing Sprout Social and leading on reporting, insights and advocacy
- Running paid social campaigns where they add value
- Training and advising senior stakeholders on social media best practice
- Monitoring channels, managing risk and supporting crisis response when needed
- Exploring new and emerging platforms to keep us ahead of the curve
About You:
- Proven experience delivering social media strategies for a global organisation, ideally within engineering, professional services or a similarly complex environment
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and advising at all levels
- Comfortable balancing global consistency with regional nuance
- Excited by the pace, creativity and possibilities of social media
- Degree in marketing, communications or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Strong analytical ability, with confidence using social insights to inform decisions
- Creative mindset with high standards and strong attention to detail
- Confidence to challenge, advise and influence when needed
