We are currently recruiting for a bank Domestic Assistant to provide and maintain a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with infection control and health & safety standards.
Responsibilities:- Clean resident bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, corridors, and offices to a high standard.
- Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as directed.
- Dispose of waste in line with care home policy and infection control guidelines.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations.
- Report any faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure proper storage and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Follow infection prevention protocols including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and deep cleaning as required.
- Assist in implementing enhanced cleaning during outbreaks (e.g., flu, norovirus, COVID-19).
- Be respectful and courteous to residents, ensuring privacy and dignity are upheld.
- Report any concerns regarding residents’ wellbeing to a senior staff member.
- Attend mandatory training and staff meetings as required.
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Experience in cleaning or domestic work
- Understanding of cleaning and hygiene standards
- Satisfactory Enhanced Access NI Check
- Relevant knowledge on COSHH.
- Experience in a care home or healthcare setting
- Basic hygiene or cleaning certificate
