Burnt Fig is a growing catering and events company delivering great food and brilliant service across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
We cater for all kinds of events, from weddings and Masonic dinners to funeral receptions, private celebrations, corporate events and everything in between. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Event Waiting Staff to join our team.
We're particularly looking for people based in or around Bolton, who can easily travel to our local events.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be part of the team helping to set up events, look after guests throughout service and make sure everything is left clean, tidy and ready to go at the end of the day.
About the Role
No two events are the same.
You could be setting up a dining room for a formal dinner one day, serving at a wedding the next, or helping with a private celebration, funeral reception, conference or charity event.
You'll work as part of the Burnt Fig team to make sure every event runs smoothly and, most importantly, that our guests feel well looked after from the moment they arrive.
You'll also have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced supervisors and wider catering team, gaining experience across a really varied range of events.
Key Responsibilities
- Help set up dining rooms and event spaces before guests arrive.
- Prepare tables, chairs, crockery, glassware and other event equipment.
- Welcome and look after guests throughout the event.
- Serve food and drinks in a friendly and professional manner.
- Clear tables and keep the event space clean and tidy throughout service.
- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with clearing down and packing equipment away at the end of the event.
- Follow food hygiene, health & safety and company procedures at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent Burnt Fig in a friendly and professional way.
- Be willing to get stuck in and help wherever needed to make the event a success.
About You

- Are happy with the physical side of the role, including standing for long periods, carrying equipment and helping with set-up and clear-down.
- Are flexible and happy to work evenings and weekends.
- Have previous hospitality, catering or events experience (helpful but not essential).
- Have a good understanding of food hygiene and allergen awareness (training can be provided).
- Are based in or around Bolton and can reliably travel to our local events.
