As a pastoral team member, your role will involve:

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children and families, helping every child to feel listened to, valued and safe.
  • Providing targeted support for vulnerable pupils, helping to overcome barriers to learning and enabling them to thrive both personally and academically.
  • Working closely with parents, carers, staff and external professionals (including social workers and mental health professionals) to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.
  • Supporting children through key transitions, including joining the school, moving schools and preparing for secondary education.
  • Delivering individual and small-group interventions to support children's social, emotional and behavioural development.
  • Playing an important role in maintaining our strong safeguarding culture and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils.
  • Advocating for children during safeguarding meetings ensuring their welfare is at the forefront of decision making.
