A high‑growth, cloud‑native payments and technology business is searching for an Identity Security Architect. Operating across the UK and Europe, this organisation provides modern payment solutions and software to SMEs, enabling seamless in‑store and online experiences for thousands of merchants.

As Identity Security Architect, you will own the security architecture, standards, and governance across both internal enterprise identity platforms and customer‑facing identity solutions in a complex, cloud‑first environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design the target IAM security architecture (authentication, authorisation, federation, provisioning, governance).
  • Define and drive IAM security standards, patterns, and reusable architecture components.
  • Partner with Enterprise Technology and Platform Engineering to align identity systems under a unified strategy.
  • Act as the bridge between Product Security and Enterprise Technology to drive consistent architecture decisions.
  • Document the current identity architecture and define the future‑state roadmap.
  • Provide security architecture guidance to meet internal risk standards and external compliance requirements.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years in security architecture, identity security, or closely related domains.
  • Strong understanding of identity security concepts: RBAC, ABAC, JIT provisioning, PAM, Zero Trust.
  • Deep knowledge of IAM protocols and standards: SAML, OAuth2, OIDC, SCIM, MFA.
  • Familiarity with identity platforms such as Entra, Auth0, Google Workspace, GCP IAM, AWS IAM.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and influencing skills across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Proven ability to balance security risk with pragmatic business outcomes in fast‑moving organisations.
Nice to have
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks (e.g. PCI DSS, SOC 2) or regulated industries (FinTech, payments, financial services).
  • Relevant security or IAM certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, vendor‑specific IAM certs).
