We are engaged by a rapidly scaling AI‑driven SaaS business to hire a Principal Tech Team Lead (Front End) to help shape the next phase of its engineering growth. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this high‑impact leadership role combines technical strategy, people leadership and hands‑on engineering within a modern product‑led environment. The company is entering a major growth phase after a Series B round, launching new products and scaling its engineering organisation significantly over the next 12‑24 months.
You will lead a growing front‑end function, managing three Front End Tech Team Leads while driving architectural consistency, engineering standards and technical direction across multiple squads. Working in cross‑functional squads, there are currently 10‑12 Front End Engineers and this is planned to grow to ~20 Front End Engineers and two more Tech Team Leads in the next year. This role suits someone who enjoys operating at scale, influencing engineering strategy, mentoring technical leaders and still spending meaningful time in a hands‑on capacity.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Front End Tech Team Leads across multiple cross‑functional squads
- Define front‑end architecture and engineering standards
- Influence technical decisions for major new product launches
- Drive consistency across the platform, tooling and developer experience
- Help scale engineering structures, processes and ways of working
- Hands‑on technical contributions to proof‑of‑concepts, spikes and technical initiatives
- Shape how AI tooling is adopted across engineering teams
- Build and develop high‑performing front‑end engineers and future leaders
