Here at Burns Sheehan, we're working with one of the UK's fastest growing workspace businesses, delivering premium office environments for thousands of members across 60+ locations. Technology plays a huge part in the customer experience, and they're investing in someone who can become the trusted technical adviser for their largest clients. This isn't a sales role with targets or commission.

Instead, you'll work directly with customers to understand their requirements, recommend the right technology solution and oversee delivery from initial scoping through to implementation. You'll become the bridge between clients, internal technical teams and third-party suppliers, ensuring every solution is commercially viable, technically sound and delivered successfully.

You'll be involved in projects covering:

  • Enterprise Networking (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi & Connectivity)
  • Microsoft Teams & Zoom Rooms
  • Meeting Room & Event Space AV
  • Telephony & Unified Communications
  • Client Onboarding & Technology Upgrades

You’ll also lead a small team and work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Operations and Infrastructure to ensure customers receive a seamless experience. You’ll need to be comfortable discussing networking, cloud, connectivity and infrastructure with IT Managers, Heads of IT and CTOs, whilst also explaining technical solutions in a straightforward way to non-technical stakeholders.

Personality is just as important as technical knowledge. We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, understands customer needs and can confidently guide clients towards the right solution rather than simply presenting technology. If you've worked across networking, cloud infrastructure, AV, telephony or managed services and enjoy working with customers, I'd be keen to chat.

Burns Sheehan Ltd will consider applications based only on skills and ability and will not discriminate on any grounds.

How to prepare for a job interview at Burns Sheehan

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
