I’m hiring for a market-leading, mobile-first UK scale-up that has already broken into 50+ countries and is gearing up for the next wave of growth.

The business is deeply AI/Data-driven, with mature engineering, mobile, data science and product teams working side by side. No silos, no empires — just smart people building clever things and expecting the same from the person leading them.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning the engineering & architecture vision across mobile, backend, infra and data
• Designing & scaling complex, distributed systems that support rapid international expansion
• Leading and coaching high-performing mobile, engineering, data science, and product teams
• Bringing deep experience in AI/ML systems and how they’re built, deployed and scaled
• Working hand-in-hand with product and data to move fast without breaking the wrong things
• Being a cultural anchor in a genuinely collaborative environment (teams are in-office 4 days/week)

What you’ll need

• A proven track record of engineering leadership in startup/scale-up environments
• Hands-on architectural depth across modern mobile, backend, cloud and data ecosystems
• Real experience scaling platforms
• Strong technical grounding in AI/ML engineering
• The ability to simplify complexity, rally teams, and make smart calls when things get messy
• A bias for shipping, learning and iterating rather than over-polishing
