We’re supporting a fast-scaling, international marketplace business that is investing heavily in how data is used across the company. This is not a “more dashboards” type of role. It is a senior insight and data leadership position focused on improving the quality of commercial decision-making across customer, pricing, marketing and finance.

You’ll lead the central analytics and insight capability, manage and develop a small team, and help shape how the business moves towards a more modern, AI-enabled, democratised approach to data. The role sits at the centre of a growing hub-and-spoke data model, working closely with embedded data roles in product/platform squads while owning the central foundations: certified metrics, semantic layers, trusted insight, governance, standards and decision-support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and developing a team of data specialists
  • Partnering with senior commercial stakeholders across customer, pricing, marketing and finance
  • Turning ambiguous business questions into clear, actionable insight
  • Owning trusted data foundations, including certified metrics, semantic layers and insight standards
  • Supporting AI and LLM-enabled access to data, with the right guardrails in place
  • Driving better data culture, stronger decision-making and sharper commercial recommendations
  • Helping shape a wider data community of practice as the business scales

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience across analytics, insight, decision science or applied data
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and growing data teams
  • Strong SQL and/or Python capability
  • A good understanding of the modern data stack across analytics, engineering, insight and advanced analytics
  • Commercially focused stakeholder management experience
  • The ability to tell the story behind the data and influence senior decision-makers
  • Experience operating across multiple internal functions with competing priorities

Bonus points for experience with:

  • Semantic layers, metrics layers or LLM-over-warehouse capability
  • Marketplace, e-commerce or consumer-facing businesses
  • Experimentation, A/B testing or decision science in a product/commercial setting
  • Helping a data team move from traditional analytics towards a more full-stack model
  • Hub-and-spoke data structures or embedded data roles

Package and benefits include:

  • Wellbeing day
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • Private healthcare
  • EAP and employee discounts
  • Learning and development support
  • Volunteer days
  • Dog-friendly office and active social calendar

This would suit a senior data leader who enjoys being close to the business, can raise the standard of insight across multiple functions, and wants to play a key role in shaping how data works in a scaling marketplace environment.
