3/4 days per week – London (Southwark). Here at Burns Sheehan, we’re working exclusively with a Real Estate / Asset Management organisation as they look to hire a 2nd / 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join their Technology Services function on an initial 12‑month fixed‑term basis. This is a hybrid role where you’ll play a key part in supporting and managing day‑to‑day IT operations across their UK and European offices. You’ll work hands‑on across a broad range of infrastructure technologies, ensuring systems are secure, stable, and well‑maintained, while providing high‑quality support to end users and internal teams. The business is medium‑size (around 150 people across 9 countries), so it’s still agile, with the chance to have a real impact. They’ve got the complexity of a multi‑site, multi‑national set‑up but without the red tape of a large corporate.

Core Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and support laptops (Windows 11), diagnosing hardware and OS issues.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot backup systems to ensure business continuity.
  • Build and rollout Intune devices, troubleshoot policy or application issues ensuring compliance.
  • Apply patches and updates across servers, firewalls, switches, and backup systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve network‑related issues, including switches and firewalls.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Mimecast email security, including policy issues.
  • Investigate and resolve access issues related to Conditional Access Policies.
  • Take ownership of technical issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to resolve company‑wide incidents (e.g. meeting room AV, Outlook, or connectivity issues).

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience in a 2nd / 3rd Line Support or Infrastructure Engineer role.
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview.
  • Intune and Conditional Access Policies, Windows Server and Windows 11.
  • Firewalls, switches, and network troubleshooting.
  • Meeting room AV (Logitech) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Good understanding of security, compliance, and data protection.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

This role will suit someone who enjoys variety and takes ownership of technical issues, with a solid grounding in infrastructure, networking, and end‑user support. It’s a hands‑on opportunity in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment. Sound interesting? Feel free to apply and we’ll get back to you accordingly!
