We have been engaged by a leading Insurtech company to find a Director of Engineering to define and deliver the technical strategy for their innovative SaaS solutions. Backed by a well-established global parent company, they operate with the agility of a scale-up while enjoying the stability of a larger organisation. Their technology powers underwriting and protection marketplaces, helping insurers and advisors streamline processes and deliver better outcomes for customers. They are undergoing a multi-year transformation, modernising their architecture and shifting towards a product-focused, SaaS model.
As the Director of Engineering, you will be part of the cross-functional Product Leadership Team, shaping the strategy and communicating this to the engineering team to deliver.
What will the Director of Engineering do?
- The Director of Engineering will be responsible for four cross-functional squads, approximately 25 Engineers, directly managing Tech Leads and a Delivery Manager.
- Partnering with Product and Design to define and execute the strategy and roadmap for their key product.
- Playing a critical role in the Product Leadership Team, contributing to product investment and strategic decisions.
- Working closely with the Engineering teams at an architectural level to ensure their solutions are aligned with, and deliver on, company goals.
- Driving engineering best practices and collaborating with other engineering leaders to continuously improve the engineering function.
- Creating and evolving autonomous, high-performing teams, ensuring they deliver value at speed.
