We’re working with an amazing scale-up who raised a very impressive Series B round earlier in 2025. They are building an AI-native SaaS platform that’s redefining the sector and have experienced explosive growth over the past year tripling their ARR. They are scaling their Engineering team to match the ambition of their product and customers.
The Engineering Lead will guide small, focused squads (up to 4 Engineers) while remaining hands-on in the codebase. This isn’t a “people manager only” role — around 70% of your time will be technical, leading the design and build of AI-native solutions with real-time infrastructure and a seamless frontend experience. The remainder will be spent coaching, mentoring, and supporting your team’s growth. For the first three months, you’ll contribute as an individual contributor, embedding yourself in the product and tech stack before taking on leadership responsibilities.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a small team of Engineers while staying deeply technical
- Contribute across the stack (React, Node.js/Typescript, GCP) with backend experience highly valued
- Shape and deliver high-quality features that scale with thousands of customers
- Advocate for engineering best practices and help raise the technical bar
- Collaborate with product and design to deliver exceptional user experiences
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience leading small teams while still contributing technically
- Strong backend development expertise (Node.js, Typescript; Go a plus)
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (GCP or AWS)
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A balance of technical depth and people-first leadership
This is an amazing opportunity for an Engineering Lead to join a fast-growing scale-up as they take the next leap in their journey. Please reply with your CV or call Simon for a chat.
