Are you a data migration expert looking for your next role? This role would be an integral piece to the puzzle in what is a full scale, multi year transformation. You would be working for an Enterprise leader helping to align the data strategy of the business for years to come.
With transformation programmes introducing new SaaS systems and the consolidation of legacy platforms, coupled with a busy merger & acquisition pipeline, the migration of data is a top priority for the business. You will define the data migration strategy and standards, overseeing migration plans delivered by the team or third parties. Additionally you will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data challenges, gaps and develop data cleansing, mapping & migration tools to speed up data migration.
Day to day?
- Define the Data Migration strategy
- Create and maintain Data Migration strategy
- Oversee or manage extraction processes from systems to access raw data and engage business stakeholders
- Lead data analysis and profiling efforts to identify gaps, quantify potential issues, and develop Data Quality reporting tools
- Document data issues, gaps, mappings, required business rules, and risks, validating this information with stakeholders.
What do you need technically?
- Advanced T-SQL programming and performance tuning abilities.
- Skilled in using SSIS or Azure Data Factory to manage data migration.
- Extensive experience working with stakeholders to identify data gaps.
- Technical certifications in Azure data platforms. (Added bonus)
- Have hands-on experience doing large scale data migrations at medium or larger sized organisations.
- Analytical mindset with a commitment to detail and adherence to coding and documentation standards.
