Here at Burns Sheehan, we're working with a leading automotive and financial services organisation modernising their test automation strategy across UK engineering teams. They're moving away from legacy frameworks and building a scalable, modular automation platform.
They're looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer (SDET) to design modern test frameworks and act as an internal automation consultant across multiple development teams. You'll build reusable automation modules, help teams become self-sufficient, and shape the future of testing across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Modularise existing Java/REST Assured API frameworks into reusable, repository-hosted components
- Lead framework migration - help teams transition from Cypress/Selenium into Playwright
- Work across engineering teams as an internal consultant, uplifting automation maturity
- Mentor developers on writing effective API and UI tests
What They're Looking For:
- 7+ years software testing, with 5+ years test automation using modern frameworks
- Proven framework development from scratch - modular, scalable, repository-hosted
- Object-oriented programming fundamentals - design patterns (e.g., factory patterns)
