Hybrid | London Victoria
We’re working with an early-stage, VC-backed startup building the AI layer for conveyancing. Right now, a single property transaction can take around 16 hours of manual legal work. Their goal is to automate 80% of that, bringing it down to 3/4 hours through AI and workflow automation. They’re at a genuinely interesting point - the product is live, FCA approval is close, and they already have referral partners lined up. This isn’t an idea-stage startup, it’s about to hit the market.
The Role – Product Engineer
They’re hiring a Product Engineer to join a small founding team (currently 4 engineers, scaling to 8). This is a proper Product Engineer role where you’ll be building the core product end to end — not just shipping tickets. As a Product Engineer, you’ll work closely with founders and domain experts to turn complex, messy workflows into clean, intuitive user experiences.
You’ll be:
- Building full stack as a Product Engineer using React, TypeScript and Python
- Owning features end to end, from idea through to production
- Translating real-world problems into scalable workflows
- Working directly with users and stakeholders to iterate quickly
- Using modern AI tools as part of your day-to-day workflow
From a tech perspective, this is genuinely AI-native. They’re building agent-style systems on top of foundation models, not just layering AI onto an existing product.
What They’re Looking For in a Product Engineer
- ~3+ years building modern web applications
- ~ Strong frontend experience with React / Next.js and TypeScript
- ~ Comfortable working full stack, with Python on the backend
- ~ A product mindset, you care about UX, detail, and how things feel to use
- ~ Experience in startup or fast-moving environments
- ~ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguity
Nice to have:
- Experience with LLMs, AI tools, or automation workflows
- Experience building 0→1 products
Why This Product Engineer Role
- Early Product Engineer hire in a high-potential, AI-native startup
- Real ownership and ability to shape the product
- Strong founding team with a track record of building and scaling businesses
- Equity on offer
- Opportunity to build something genuinely impactful from the ground up
