A major international logistics real estate business, focused on the ownership, development and operation of logistics assets across multiple regions, is seeking a contract Data Business Analyst. With a number of data‑led initiatives underway, the business needs someone who can bring stronger structure, analysis and stakeholder management into a key delivery role.
The Data Business Analyst role is a delivery‑focused BA contract supporting data projects where strong requirements gathering, data understanding and stakeholder engagement are all critical. The business is looking for someone who can work proactively, take ownership and operate with greater independence – someone who can go away, shape problems properly and come back with informed recommendations rather than needing excessive direction. Alongside core BA capability, any experience supporting Agile ceremonies or Scrum‑style delivery would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:- Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders to understand, document and shape business and data requirements across active initiatives.
- Data Analysis Support: Operate across data‑focused change work, with an understanding of data structures, mappings and how source‑to‑target flows need to be captured.
- Documentation: Produce clear, structured documentation and specifications to support delivery teams and business stakeholders.
- Data Mapping: Support mapping between source and target systems, helping ensure data requirements are properly defined and understood.
- Stakeholder Management: Build credibility with stakeholders and communicate clearly across both business and delivery teams.
- Proactive Delivery Support: Take ownership of work, investigate issues independently and return with informed recommendations and next steps.
- Agile Support: Contribute to Scrum‑style delivery activity where needed, with some ability to support delivery ceremonies or team coordination.
- Strong BA Background: Proven Business Analyst experience in delivery environments with responsibility for requirements, documentation and stakeholder engagement.
- Data Project Experience: Previous experience working on data‑focused projects is essential.
- Data Understanding: Good understanding of data structures, data modelling and data mapping.
- SQL Awareness: Ability to use SQL would be beneficial, though it is not essential.
- Proactive Approach: Able to work independently, show initiative and push work forward without waiting for constant instruction.
- Communication Skills: Strong stakeholder communication skills and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Able to avoid basic mistakes and produce work that reduces, rather than increases, stakeholder effort.
- Additional Scrum Exposure: Scrum Master or Agile delivery experience would be useful as a secondary skill.
