The Transmission Planning team works with a variety of clients to provide consultancy services, primarily in the areas of power system analysis, network planning, grid connection studies, and bespoke model development. We combine these skills to deliver comprehensive and leading-edge innovative solutions to our clients. We have a strong pipeline of work and we would like to recruit a highly capable and motivated Senior Consultant with an eye for detail to support and inspire the team.
Further to excellent leadership qualities, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to understand client requirements and provide innovative yet pragmatic and cost-effective solutions:
- Perform and manage power system studies for a range of clients.
- Work with the team lead to facilitate effective management and growth of the team and workload.
- Manage resources and coordination of the team to ensure efficient delivery of projects and use of consultant time.
- Identify skills gaps, training needs, and recruitment needs to meet business plan targets, client needs, and overall company strategy.
- Work with the team lead on proposal activity and provide timely and efficient responses to enquiries and opportunities.
- Perform consultant and project manager roles as required to deliver projects efficiently.
- Ensure quality assurance of all team deliverables, including proposals and project reports.
- Maintain client relationships and support the team to develop these relationships with their clients.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and manage partnerships with other consultancies and industry bodies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and other legislative and company requirements.
- Work with all consultants in the team to ensure that lessons learnt are communicated and team skills are developed.
- Work with the team lead to ensure that the team continually improves systems in relation to quality, health & safety and the environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or related field and 3 years of experience.
- Demonstrable experience of providing power system consultancy services for T&D network operators, developers, EPCs and ICPs.
- Extensive, detailed knowledge of power system analysis and direct involvement and delivery of detailed power systems studies in software packages, such as PowerFactory, PSS/E, IPSA, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP-ATP, and CDEGS.
- Extensive experience of performing dynamic grid connection studies to meet the requirements of Engineering Recommendation G99 and international Grid Codes.
- Extensive experience of performing power quality assessment studies, including Engineering Recommendation G5/5, P28, and P29.
- Excellent written and verbal communications with both technical and non-technical personnel.
