We have an opportunity for an Assistant Electrical Engineer to join our team, working on a variety of high-tech building design and construction projects. Project focus would initially be data centers and telecommunications facilities and would grow to include a variety of other facilities, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, or institutional.

As An Assistant Electrical Engineer You Be Assisting Engineers With The Design And Supervision Of Electrical Services Installations For Buildings. You Will Be Working On Real Live Projects And Will Receive Support And Development From Line Managers, Mentors And The Team, As Well As
- Assist with the preparation of concept, spatial coordination, and technical design stage information.
- Undertaking design calculations for assessing the electrical loads of buildings, sizing utility connections, generators, uninterruptable power supplies, photovoltaics together with associated earthing and distribution systems, using a variety of software including: Stabicad Electrical, Etap and Excel.
- Developing skills using Revit, construct and modify 3D MEP models.
- Undertaking feasibility studies including researching and developing options, preparing technical reports for issue and presentation to the team and clients.
- Coordinating your design activities with the internal team to ensure effective project delivery.
- Providing the internal project team with regular updates on progress.
- Attending internal and external project meetings.
- Attending site, meeting contractors, undertaking site inspections and witnessing commissioning and testing.
- Responsible for adhering to company health and safety, Integrated Management System (IMS) and client standards and procedures.
- Discuss and research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design problems.
- Deliver quality.
- Maintaining a record of your competency evidence, to progress towards professional registration for IEng/CEng and arranging and attending regular review meetings with your mentor.
- Undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CDP) and maintaining appropriate records.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited program required. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge in standard electrical engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Basic computer skills including electrical analysis programs, AutoCAD, BIM, Revit
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
