The Role

To deliver All SySTEM’s Go! STEM Education in Secondary Schools to a wide range of local schools and participants, in line with the Education and Charity strategic vision.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Programme Delivery
    • Take responsibility for the delivery of the All SySTEM’s Go! STEM programme within a designated cohort of schools, on behalf of BFCitC.
    • Delivery shall be at set schools throughout the week along with delivering one-off events and short-term programmes.
    • Engage with young people in a range of creative and innovative curriculum and extra-curricular activities that will inspire and promote STEM, in line with the Education and Charity strategic vision.
    • To deliver the highest possible quality of STEM interventions and community sessions, to a wealth of participants with varying abilities, needs and demands, in a variety of different environments.
    • Work with colleagues on additional Community programmes to support participants to access the STEM curriculum.
    • Work with the STEM Coordinator to continuously develop and grow BFCitC’s STEM programme.
  • Curriculum Development & Planning
    • Support with the development of an engaging and inspiring STEM curriculum offer which meets the needs of a variety of target audiences.
    • Work alongside the STEM Coordinator to ensure the STEM curriculum meets the needs of the target audience and supports active delivery.
    • To ensure meticulous planning is conducted prior to each session that is delivered, with considerations being made for individuals’ needs and requirements.
    • Ensure all equipment is prepared and suitable for each session, this includes first aid kits where necessary.
  • Impact, Monitoring & Evaluation
    • Deliver a framework to demonstrate the impact the programme has on the participants.
    • To continuously evaluate the success/standards of own work, through rigorous self-reflection and analysis.
    • To partake in the crucial processes of monitoring and evaluation, to ensure that the progress/impact of any given provision is reported to key funders in a timely and effective manner.
    • Use regular registers and the Salesforce platform to support ongoing monitoring and reporting.
  • Safeguarding, Welfare & Safety
    • To ensure that all stakeholders are kept safe and well, before, during and after the delivery of a given session.
  • Partnerships & Communication
    • Liaise with schools, teachers and other organisations and agencies.
    • Raise aspirations of local children and young people and promote STEM local careers.
  • General Responsibilities
    • Any other duties deemed appropriate by the STEM Coordinator or equivalent.
  • General
    • To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role.
    • To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
    • To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires.
    • To work towards agreed objectives.
    • Comply with all Charity policies.
    • Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.
    • Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.
    • Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
    • Willingness to attend training courses to enhance own professional development.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area of STEM work.
  • Safeguarding certificate or the willingness to undertake training.
  • First Aid certificate or the willingness to undertake training.
  • Five GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Maths.
  • Experience working in a STEM related industry.
  • Full driving license and the use of a vehicle.
