Burnley FC in the Community is seeking a creative, practical designer to support our programmes through engaging visual content. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on design experience, someone who enjoys creating eye-catching content, working across digital and print, and helping our work connect with the local community.
You’ll play a key role in bringing our programmes to life visually, supporting everything from social media and marketing campaigns to printed materials used across our projects.
Roles and Responsibilities- Create engaging graphics for social media, email campaigns, presentations, and web use.
- Design posters, flyers, leaflets, banners, and other printed materials.
- Support the creation of interactive and engaging content, including simple animations, templates, and visual assets.
- Adapt designs to suit different audiences, including young people, families, partners, and funders.
- Use tools such as Canva (and similar mainstream platforms) to produce consistent, on-brand materials.
- Work with colleagues to maintain a strong visual identity across all programmes.
- Support basic content updates where required (e.g. resizing assets, adapting templates).
- Prepare artwork for print and liaise with print companies where needed.
- Ensure designs are print-ready and meet basic production requirements.
- Manage version control and updates to existing materials.
- Work closely with programme leads to understand their needs and translate ideas into creative outputs.
- Take feedback positively and make adjustments efficiently.
- Support wider marketing and communications activity when required.
- Understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role.
- Be able to work flexible hours where the role requires.
- Work towards agreed objectives.
- Comply with all Charity policies.
- Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.
- Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.
- Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
- Willingness to attend training courses to enhance own professional development.

- GCSE Math and English Grade 4 and above.
- Minimum of 2 years’ practical design experience (work, freelance, voluntary, or personal projects).
- Confident using Canva and/or similar design tools.
- A strong creative eye and understanding of layout, colour, and typography.
- Experience creating content for both digital and print.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work within brand guidelines while still being creative.
