Role Description
The Community Engagement Lead is a 12 month fixed term contract in Burnley.
The main focus is our new 3 year, National Lottery Reaching Communities youth voice outreach project. 'Young Community' is a true co-creation multi-artform project working with targeted groups of young people aged 11-18.
This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities, schools, youth groups, and partner organizations, ensuring broad access to Burnley Youth Theatre's programs.
Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering outreach activities and workshops, coordinating community events, collecting feedback from participants, and promoting opportunities for children, young people, and families to get involved.
The role also involves collaborating with the artistic and administrative teams to align engagement initiatives with the theatre’s mission, supporting evaluation and reporting, and contributing to funding applications or partnership proposals where relevant.
Qualifications
- Community outreach and engagement skills, including experience working with children, young people, families, and diverse communities.
- Program coordination and project management skills to plan, deliver, and evaluate events, workshops, and partnerships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present, facilitate group activities, and build long-term relationships.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills, with experience working across artistic, administrative, and external stakeholder groups.
