The Senior Netball Development Coach (SNDC) supports the Sports Development Manager with developing and delivering the Netball Academy in partnership with Nelson & Colne College and Accrington and Rossendale College. The SNDC is also responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of our community-based netball provision and sports participation in Burnley and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Programme Delivery & Coaching: Plan, deliver and evaluate netball sessions to ensure high standards and customer service is maintained. Lead the delivery of community netball programmes including Back 2 Netball, Walking Netball, Netball Development Centres and Bella Bee Netball. Deliver netball coaching sessions and support classroom-based education workshops when required.
  • Programme Development & Growth: Explore growth opportunities with the Sports Development Manager for netball provision related to the project area. Provide exit routes, including coaching or playing opportunities, for graduating Netball Academy players/students.
  • Staffing, Coordination & Sustainability: Support the coordination of staffing and delivery of netball sessions and other sports development sessions (when required), whilst ensuring all sessions are financially viable and sustainable.
  • Marketing, Promotion & Partnerships: Support the marketing and promotion of netball and other sports development programmes, including distributing flyers and attending open evenings. Liaise with colleagues and key partners to proactively promote netball projects to new and existing participants within Burnley and surrounding areas.
  • Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation: Undertake administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of netball development initiatives, including attendance registers, organising fixtures, transport and petty cash. Monitor and evaluate netball development projects, logging key impact and participation data on Salesforce.
  • General: Understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. Use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment. Work flexible hours where the role of the job requires. Comply with all Charity policies. Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner. Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice. Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace. Willingness to attend training courses to enhance own professional development. Always demonstrate the Charity’s values.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Level 2 Netball or equivalent coaching qualification
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Safeguarding

  • Experience in delivering safe, structured and enjoyable netball sessions in schools, clubs and the local community.
  • Understanding the needs of target groups including women & girls, minority ethnic communities, people with disabilities and people from disadvantaged backgrounds and areas of deprivation.
