The Role

The Female Football Development Coach will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of the Female Football Development Pathway. This role will work closely with the Female Football Development Manager and the Senior Female Football Development Coach to plan and deliver a comprehensive and purposeful Female Football Development programme, including but not limited to the Post 16 Girls’ Programme, FA Emerging Talent Centre, BFC Women Juniors and community-based female football development initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Session Delivery & Player Development: Plan and deliver high-quality sessions for the Post 16 Girls’ Programme, FA Emerging Talent Centre, BFC Women Juniors, and other community-based female football development initiatives. Engage, inspire, and empower participants in female-specific sessions to help them reach their full potential. Take an active lead with one of the BFC Women Junior age-group teams by planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality training sessions and match experiences. Provide players with individual development plans (IDPs) and tailor sessions to meet their objectives.
  • Talent Identification & Pathway Development: Identify talented female footballers and participants within the projects, referring them to the appropriate level within the female football pathway. Support the growth of the female football pathway by assisting the Senior Female Football Development Coach with student/player recruitment events such as tournaments, school visits, assemblies, workshops, and open training sessions. Ensure consistency of standards across all female football initiatives.
  • Enrichment & Player Experience: Support the Senior Female Football Development Coach in organising guest speakers, trips, visits, work experience opportunities, and value-added experiences for Post-16 Girls.
  • Organisational Support & Engagement: Proactively promote and assist other areas of the organisation when required, including BFC matchday activities and occasional evening work. Work in partnership with BFCitC and Burnley Football Club departments on community initiatives as identified by the Director of Football, Sport & Education, CEO of BFCitC and Board of Trustees.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation & Administration: Contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure progress and impact are reported to key funders in a timely and effective manner. This includes maintaining registers, producing case studies, tracking KPIs, and using the Salesforce platform. Undertake appropriate administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the programme, such as organising fixtures, officials, and transport, creating player reports, and collecting payments through various methods.
  • General: Understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. Use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment. Work flexible hours where the role of the job requires. Comply with all Charity policies. Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner. Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice. Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace. Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • FA Level 2/UEFA C in Coaching Football.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
  • In date FA First Aid.
  • In date FA Safeguarding.
  • Experience of planning and delivering inclusive, high quality regular football coaching sessions to players of all ages and abilities.
  • Experience of managing a football team.
  • Experience of working within a high pressured, results driven environment.
  • Ability to plan specific sessions based on Player IDP’s.
  • Follow a technical curriculum provided and create session plans accordingly.
  • Full clean driving license with access to own transport to travel to locations throughout the local area.
  • Time management skills to be able to plan and regulate workload including the ability to prioritise demands and thrive under pressure.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
