Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, Mon–Fri, 9AM–5PM, with occasional event support

The Role

The Marketing & Events Coordinator will support the planning and delivery of marketing and communications activity for Burnley FC in the Community, and community Facilities, The Leisure Box and Whitehough Outdoor Centre. The role will focus on creating engaging content, managing social media channels, supporting digital campaigns and promoting the impact of the charity across its programmes and facilities. The role will also provide planning and logistical support for fundraising and community events where required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Marketing Comms
    • Leading the planning, scheduling and management of creative content for the charity and facilities, including associated projects.
    • Management of communication across social media and website and email channels, including (but not limited to):
      • Website content
      • Matchday programme content
      • Reporting
      • Internal & external email marketing updates
    • Capture stories, case studies and testimonials from projects.
    • Support on the co-ordination of the Charity’s annual impact report.
    • Ensure brand consistency across all communications.
    • Support development of marketing materials across print and digital platforms.
    • Website updating across Charity / Facility websites (on WordPress), ensuring information is up to date / accurate.
    • Create and schedule engaging content across social platforms including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for the Charity and facilities, utilisation of Meta and third-party tools.
    • Support paid social or boosted campaign activity where required.
    • Create short-form video and social-first content.
    • Support growth and engagement across channels.
    • Monitor trends and recommend content opportunities.
    • Showcase engagement and campaign performance.
  • Fundraising & Events
    • Support event logistics, planning and promotion where required.
    • Provide marketing and communications support for fundraising and community events for both the charity and facilities.
    • Assist in delivering promotional activity for seasonal or matchday events.
    • Event support and attendance (which may be outside working hours) to support Head of Partnerships & Fundraising.
    • Support with monthly events, including player-engagement and ad-hoc themed matchday activations.
    • Support on the organisation of the Charity’s flagship events, such as the Community Day (matchday fixture) and Charity Dinner and other initiatives.
  • Governance & Impact
    • The role will be a member of the operations / management team highlight key marketing initiatives and link content with the strategy.
    • Provide marketing analytics for reporting, as and when required for compliance and governance purposes.
    • Raise POs and liaise with the finance team regarding any departmental resource/spend.
    • Supporting Head of Brand & Marketing on any administrative duties.
  • General

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Knowledge and qualification in a vocational or specialized field, short of a degree level (i.e. HND).
  • 2 years minimum in a similar role.
  • Content creation skills (photo/video desirable).
  • Copy writing and storytelling ability.
  • Digital campaign experience.
  • Experience of event planning and event marketing.
  • Basic analytics/reporting understanding.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Experience of using creative tools, i.e. Canva, Meta suite.
  • Ability to work creatively and proactively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing techniques and practice.
  • Proven track record of managing individual social media channels, and strategy for each, including Meta.
  • Experience of creating and delivering marketing campaigns.
  • Confidence in working with new people or unfamiliar situations.
  • Ability to work on initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Friendly open manner and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT and MS Office skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with WordPress.
