ILM Award in Leadership and Management Training Course. The purpose of this course is to develop the knowledge and understanding of different leadership styles and behaviours to be found in the workplace, including an understanding of your own preferred leadership behaviours, and the impact that these different styles are likely to have on the behaviour of team members. Additionally, through your training, you will develop knowledge of why motivation is important, what motivates people and how understanding this can be used to increase motivation in the workplace with resulting improvements in performance.
Training will be held over 4 sessions covering the following units:
- Understanding leadership
- Leading and motivating a team effectively
This will be supplemented by in-depth tutorials and assignment preparation.

Assessment: You will be assessed through two internally assessed assignments. In assignment 1, you will complete a reflective report which allows you to apply the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you have gained into your business and workplace. You will explore the concepts of leadership in practice and understand how you can develop and implement effective leadership skills for efficiency and productivity gains within your organisation. In assignment 2, you will complete a reflective report which allows you to apply your knowledge, skills, and behaviours surrounding motivating employees in the workplace. You will explore concepts of motivation and the impact effective leadership to motivate can have on workplace practice.
Having studied on this training course, learners often progress onto further study in this area through the Level 3 Certificate and/or Diploma in Leadership and Management. Having studied on this training course, you/your staff will have developed a range of transferrable skills across the spectrum of leadership and management and this will aid in many aspects of industry and business practice.
